Rick and I attended the Florida State Genealogical Society's 2010 Conference in sunny and warm Sarasota, Florida this weekend. The conference was well-attended and drew about 250 attendees, higher than expected. It was successful trip for us as we met many of our Florida-based Family Chronicle and Internet Genealogy subscribers in their own "backyard". We also got to meet with many other colleagues as well. Notable at the conference were Maureen Taylor who was lecturing ahd doing private photo consultations, George Morgan and Drew Smith (The Genealogy Guys) conducted a live podcast on Friday, and a few of the "regulars" on the vendor circuit including Martha Mercer of Maia's Books, Tom Ryder of EasyNetSites, and Carl and Alice Charest of Godfrey Memorial Library to name a few. Congratulations and many thanks to Carol Rooksby Weidlich (Vendor Chair), Kim Garvey (Vendor Committee), and Cindy Hineman Davis (Conference Chair) and all the volunteers who worked hard to make it a success. See you all in 2011!
